LA Galaxy Discovery Program

The LA Galaxy are excited to introduce the LA Galaxy Discovery Program (GDP), a free, exclusive, immersive and supplemental youth training program that will extend the pipeline to the LA Galaxy Academy by actively identifying, cultivating and elevating youth players that are dedicated to succeeding in their soccer career and with the LA Galaxy. Through the GDP your player will receive free high-caliber instruction in an unrivalled training environment.

The GDP is not intended to take the place of a player’s current club, rather it should be used as a supplemental training to advance a player’s soccer skills and passion to succeed.

  • Cost: Free to program participants
  • Capacity: 50 players will be invited to take part in each GDP cohort. Additional cohorts will be announced at a later date.
  • Training Location: Dignity Health Sports Park
  • Cohort 1 Training Dates: April 30-June 1; Friday’s from 6-8pm

  • Interaction with the LA Galaxy Academy staff
  • Premium training experience
  • Exclusive GDP gear
  • Additional LA Galaxy access
  • Camaraderie across cohorts
  • Continued post-program interaction with the LA Galaxy
  • And more!

  • Boys and girls
  • 8-16 years old
  • Exhibit a high-level of soccer aptitude
  • Players must be identified through an LA Galaxy Youth Camp (multi-day, specialized training) or a free GDP assessment session (see below). If a player is identified, the LA Galaxy will contact the player and invite them to take part in the free GDP.

The free assessment session is a two-hour opportunity for players to showcase their individual abilities, through technical and tactical exercises, in front of our LA Galaxy Youth Staff. If identified at an assessment session, the LA Galaxy will contact the player and invite them to take part in the free GDP.

Upcoming free assessment dates at Dignity Health Sports Park:

  • April 10; 5:30-7:30pm; ages 8-12
  • April 11; 5:30-7:30pm; ages 13-16

Apply for the first free assessment session here. Player’s are required to answer questions regarding their soccer history. LA Galaxy staff will review and confirm if your player is at the appropriate level to partake in the assessment session. Space is limited.
