LA Galaxy Youth Soccer Programs Code of Conduct
Applicable to Players, Parents/Guardians, Coaches, and Staff
Effective at LA Galaxy Youth Program Locations
Purpose
This Code of Conduct is designed to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all participants in the LA Galaxy Youth soccer programs, including children (ages 18 months–16 years), families, coaches, and staff. It outlines expected behaviors and provides guidelines to prevent and respond to inappropriate conduct at all program activities and facilities.
General Expectations
All participants—players, parents, guardians, coaches, and staff— are required to:
- Act with integrity, kindness, and sportsmanship at all times.
 - Follow all posted facility rules and staff instructions.
 - Respect personal boundaries and physical safety.
 - Communicate in a respectful, age-appropriate, and non-threatening manner.
 - Comply with all program policies regarding child safety, discipline, and supervision.
 
Player Conduct
All players are required to:
- Show respect toward program participants, coaches, and all other facility patrons.
 - Follow rules and directions given by coaches or staff.
 - Refrain from bullying, teasing, or physical aggression.
 - Use respectful language—no profanity, name-calling, or inappropriate gestures.
 - Stay within designated areas and remain under supervision at all times.
 - Participate in a spirit of fun, learning, and team collaboration.
 
Parent/Guardian Conduct
Parents/Guardians are required to:
- Support all children, coaches, and staff in a positive and encouraging manner.
 - Address concerns respectfully and directly with staff—never with other children or families.
 - If your child is continuously disruptive or not behaving, the staff may request assistance.
 - Respect the judgment and instructions of coaches and staff.
 - Ensure their child is dropped off/picked up on time, and contact information is up to date.
 
Coach & Staff Conduct
Coaches and staff are required to:
- Create a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment.
 - Maintain appropriate physical, verbal, and emotional boundaries with all children.
 - Use positive reinforcement and age-appropriate instruction methods.
 - Refrain from any behavior—physical, verbal, or digital—that could be interpreted as inappropriate or unprofessional.
 - Report any incidents or concerns regarding misconduct immediately to program leadership.
 
Zero Tolerance for the Following
We maintain zero tolerance for the following. If any patron acts on any of the below, they will be removed from Galaxy Youth Programs and Facilities:
- Physical, verbal, or emotional abuse of any kind.
 - Bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behavior.
 - Inappropriate physical contact.
 - Retaliation against individuals who report misconduct.
 - Use of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances at events.
 - Any action that compromises the safety or emotional wellbeing of a child.
 
Incident Reporting & Resolution Process
- All incidents should be reported to site supervisors or program directors as soon as possible—preferably in writing to programs@lagalaxy.com.
 - Reports can be made by children (with support), parents, coaches, or staff.
 - The program director will investigate all credible concerns promptly and confidentially.
 - Actions may include verbal warnings, suspensions, removal from the program, or referral to local authorities, depending on the severity.
 
Facility-Specific Reminders
- This Code of Conduct applies equally at all facilities operated by the LA Galaxy.
 - Please respect shared property and help keep equipment, restrooms, and common areas clean and safe.
 - Any facility-specific protocols (e.g., access control, parking, restroom use) must be followed at all times.
 
Acknowledgment & Agreement
By registering for, and continuing participation in, LA Galaxy Youth programs, it implies consent to these standards.
